Defensive Driving Class (4 hour refresher)

You must be 55 or older to participate. This class is for the individual who has had a previous 8-hour class. Participants will receive a reduction in their car insurance after completing this class. Sgt. Mike Flatley, Instructor.
Long Term Care – Estate Conservation

This workshop helps people understand what Long Term Care is. Find out about Care Options, Medical Assistance, Health Care Directives, Power of Attorney, Estate Conservation Tools, and Long Term Care Insurance Partner Plans.
Car Seat Safety

Come to hear new information about car seat safety and the “booster law” that was recently assed. Get your questions answered in this presentation by Laurie McDowell, LPN and Child Passenger Safety Technician. This is a collaboration with the Virginia Regional Medical Center and the Virginia Fire Department.
Water Color Painting – Birds

Gail Peterson will take you step by step to finish a watercolor of your choice: winter, spring, or summer scenes with birds such as chick-a-dee, nut hatcher, cardinal, bluejay, robin, etc. All materials will be supplied at class including a 16 x 20 mat ready for you to frame. Supply fee of $12 to be paid to instructor at class.
Intro to Racquetball

Classes will be held at Supreme Court Fitness & Racquetball
A lifetime sport for all ages 18-80+. Get a great workout and fun, friendly competition while learning basic rules, strategies, and skills. Racquets, racquetballs and non-prescriptive eyewear will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing and clean non-marking court shoes. Jim Roby, Instructor.
Beginning Wheat Weaving

You will learn an old folk art while working with wheat straw. Caryl Tamte will teach you how to make ornaments and wall hangings. Bring scissors and a bath towel. Pay $5 supply fee to instructor at the class.

Lisa Bracelet Beading

Join instructor Wayne Christiansen in exploring everyday Spanish vocabulary, pronunciation, basic grammar structures, and life in Spanish-speaking countries. This is a continuation of fall and winter classes. New students with some previous background in Spanish are welcome. A textbook will be available for new students for $15. No class on April 14.

Wild Flower Walk

Have you always wondered what those tiny wildflowers blooming in the woods are? Janna Goerdt will teach you to identify the most common spring wildflowers on this easygoing spring walk in the Superior National Forest. Class fee will be donated to the Nature Conservancy. Bring a camera! Meet at the Laurentian Divide parking lot, 3 miles north of Virginia on Highway 53.
Lifeguard Training

This class teaches candidates the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. You must be at least 15 years of age before the last scheduled class session. Chad Buggert, Lifeguard Instructor.
Laser Engraving

Greg Foster will help you design and produce a unique plaque. Learn the basics about the Laser Engraver and Corel Draw design software. Basic woodworking and finishing skills will also be introduced. If you have any digital logos/designs/artwork, bring them to class on a flash drive (optional). Enter from 6th Avenue, Door #8. Price includes $5 supply fee.
Fabric Wrapped Container

Karen Lamppa will use cotton clothesline and strips of fabric to begin a large wrapped container OR try the technique by making a coaster from a kit available from the instructor for $3. Pick up supply list in the Comm. Ed office.
Pilates Class

Adult Open Swim

Swim 5 days a week. 1.5 hours per day for 10 weeks. M/W/F evenings and T/Th mornings with this self directed swim program. Lifeguard on duty. Price will be reduced with more participants.
Masters’ Swim Workouts

Chanhassen Dinner Theatre: Footloose

Footloose is based on the 80’s blockbuster movie starring Kevin Bacon. It takes place in a small Texas town where dancing has been forbidden. Join us on this day tour to find out what happens when a new kid who loves to dance arrives in town. Over 76 million Americans are unsuspecting victims of food borne illness each year. This workshop will highlight the major causes of food borne illness and share information on safe food handling practices in your home. Food program participants will meet ACFP annual training requirements by attending this session and will receive a certificate for 2 hours of training.

REGISTRATION
Are you in the class? YES, unless you hear from us. Simply mail in the registration with your check and show up for the class. You will be notified only if the class is filled or if the class is canceled.
Pre registration is necessary for all classes. Classes will be held or canceled based on enrollment. Registration will be taken on a first come first serve basis. Fees are not refundable unless you cancel three days before the class begins. Complete the registration form and return with your fee.
Class fees must be paid within 3 days after calling in your registration. Send separate checks for each class.
