Before & After School Child Care – Grades K-6
M-F ongoing 7:00-8:00 am 2:45-5:30 pm Parkview
A collaborative between the Virginia Public Schools and Mesabi Family YMCA. Roosevelt Elem. students are bussed over to Parkview after school. Your child must be pre registered to attend. Fees are to be pre-paid.
Boys’ & Girls’ Swim – Gr. 4
M/W/F Beg. Mar.8-19 3:10-4:30 pm Roos. Pool $20
Bring swimsuit, towel, goggles, and personal shower items. Flyers will be sent home.
Boys’ Swim – Gr. 5 & 6
T/Th Beg. Mar.23 3:10-4:30 pm Roos. Pool $40
Bring swim suit, towel, goggles, and personal shower items. Flyers will be sent home.
Girls’ Swim – Gr. 5 & 6

End of April. Instructed by the Va. High School Coaches. Flyers will be sent home.

Babysitters’ Training
M-Th, Apr. 19-22 3:10-5:00 pm Resource Center $40
For boys and girls who want to be responsible babysitters. Each participant receives the Babysitters’ Handbook and other useful handouts. Students are eligible to receive a certificate if they are age 11 or older. Bring a snack for after school. Class size limited to the first 12 paid participants. Anna Amundson, Instructor.
There’s No Place Like Home
Thr., Apr. 22 3:00-4:30 pm Parkview $12
Kim’s fun after school craft class will make a family album shaped like a house. Bring small pictures of your family and pets to put in your book. We will also make a pair of ruby slippers out of paper and two other Wizard of Oz themed cards.
Mothers’ Day Crafts
Tue., Apr. 27 3:00-4:30 pm Parkview $10
Join Lisa for an after school snack and craft time! Lisa’s class will be painting and decorating two gifts for mom: A very cute flower, which is actually a picture frame, and a wooden card holder.
Think Spring Kids’ Crafts
Thr., May 6 3:00-4:30 pm Parkview $12
Kim’s class will make a special gift for mom for Mothers’ Day plus do a variety of other projects with themes of gardening, flowers, and bees. We will make a card that looks like a watering can and decorate a container and plant seeds in it.
Fathers’ Day and Summertime Crafts
Tue., May 18 3:00-4:30 pm Parkview $10
Join Lisa for an after school snack and craft projects. We’ll be decorating a mug for dad or grandpa and putting it in a gift box. We will also be painting and embellishing a fun “Beach Scene” frame to hold your favorite summer photo.

Early Childhood Family Education
We are now accepting pre-registration for the School Readiness classes for 2010-2011. Children must be 4 on or before September 1, 2010. Space is limited. Call 742-3805 to get registration information or visit our website.
Thursday Family Nights
A fun evening of physical activity. Gym nights are free and run from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Drop in and join us! Gym nights are held at the Parkview Learning Center and are organized for parents & their children not yet in Kindergarten. Siblings ages 8 & younger may participate. Gym shoes are required!
